Human Catapult System - For Water Launches, Extreme Sports, BASE Jumps
Our human catapult system utilizes a 120 gallon steel air tank controlled by a 2 ball valve to force air into a Ø10 x 22 pneumatic cylinder. When pressurized, the pneumatic cylinder forces a 12 long truss section to rotate 70° before being dampened with an adjustable air cushion. Our catapult was initially ground tested by repeatedly launching 150-200 lb. sand bags. Hundreds of successful human test launches into a lake were performed in the summer of 2012 and 2013. At Bridge Day 2012 through 2014, our catapult system launched 100+ excited BASE jumpers over the 876 tall New River Gorge Bridge. Even the most experienced BASE jumpers with decades of parachuting experience were visibly nervous before being launched over the third tallest bridge in the USA. This catapult is like no other ride in the world and the launch is very smooth.
Built in 2012, this catapult system has only been used an average of three days a year. We brought it to a local lake for water launch testing and television events 2-3 times. We also tested it 4-5 times early on with water launches prior to taking it to Bridge Day where up to 250,000 spectators would watch it in action. A few years ago, we hauled it to Ohio for a Church event that mimicked The Amazing Race. The catapult is transportable and can two people can maneuver it across smooth surfaces to various launch locations. The catapult has an onboard 1700 lb battery-powered winch and it can pull itself into the trailer. Getting it out of the trailer is simple since gravity does most of the work.

Catapult to add to excitement at Bridge Day
Catapult system to be introduced at Bridge Day
Im the engineer who designed the catapult and Ive launched my wife (age 40), daughter (age 10), and son (age 8) into water. I have personally been launched into our local lake at least 30 times and over the edge of the 876 tall New River Gorge Bridge during Bridge Day three times. No one has ever been injured with this catapult beyond a few belly smacker landings in water.
Two people (350+ lbs) can be launched at one time using higher pressures. If you are interested in seeing the catapult in action, it is currently in storage. However, we can perform sand bag test launches for a $250 fee that is refundable if you elect to purchase the human catapult system.
This human catapult comes with a fully enclosed and customized 2011 Look Element 8.5x20 car hauler trailer. The trailer has been modified with E-track rails along both side walls and a C-channel rail system on the floor to guide the catapult in and out. The trailer has less than 1500 miles total and is in great shape. Last summer, I removed and reapplied sealant on the roof to prevent leaks. I also beefed up the steel plate that covers the gap between the trailer and the spring assist ramp door. The front of the trailer contains a V-nose and tapered top to reduce drag. Electric brakes, battery for emergency braking, and a 7 pin connector is standard.

-Email and telephone support if you have any questions regarding the use and/or maintenance of the catapult.
-Ill show you how it works, launch some sand bags, and demonstrate how to get it in and out of the trailer.
Known Issues

-Pneumatic cylinder has a small air leak around the piston at full system pressure (does not affect performance)
-Trailer has a broken emergency braking lanyard, but I will fix this before your purchase
-Trailer had a small water leak in the roof that discolored some plywood walls, but you may have a difficult time even finding the affected area.
