⭕ Featured is one Kiron 28-210mm f/4-5.6 Macro Focusing Zoom with Konica AR Mount for manual focus SLR cameras. The Kiron 28-210mm lens with a 7.5x zoom was the first 35mm SLR 200mm lens to extend from standard wide angle to long telephoto, covering a wide range of focal lengths. Multi-coated lens. Impressive optical design and precision mechanical engineering. Quality solid metal build with glossy satin black finish. The lens zooms smoothly from wide to telephoto with a push-pull zooming mechanism. The wide rubber diamond-patterned control ring makes for smooth, fast, and precise zoom and focusing adjustments. Optical construction is 14 elements in 11 groups. 72mm filter thread size. Includes original Kiron front and rear lens caps. Comes with original instruction manual. Made in Japan. Serial #57617483. The Kiron 28-210mm has a variable aperture, which means the effective aperture changes with the change in focal length. Approximately one stop more light is transmitted at the 28mm position than at the 210mm position. Camera with automatic metering systems will automatically compensate for this change, which means you can use the procedures for metering which work for your camera. This is also true when using a dedicated electronic flash unit. The Kiron 28-210mm has been specifically designed for close-up photography in the 50mm-210mm range. A cammed focusing device has been incorporated in the 28mm-50mm range. This guides the lens when you are doing close-up photography and helps you avoid undesirable results. The Kiron zoom has a macro setting of 1:4 at the long end of its range, i.e., at 210mm. The macro setting at the long end means you can keep your distance from your subject. Once you have framed your subject and have it in proper focus, you can maintain the position of the lens by using the Zoom Stopping Device which acts as a zoom lock. Gently tighten the small chrome thumb screw located near the base of the Zoom/Focus Control. Kiron was a subsidiary of Kino Precision Optical Corp., which was originally formed by a group of engineers formerly employed at Nikon, who had developed their own designs for 35mm film SLR camera lenses. Kiron soon became known as one of the few third-party lens manufacturers who could supply products equal to or even exceeding the optical and mechanical quality of the original manufacturers. The Kiron lenses were praised for their superb optical resolution and clarity, as well as mechanical quality. The Kiron 28-210mm f/4-5.6 is considered to be a cult classic, and some will say it remains one of the best manual focus 7.5:1 long-zoom lenses ever made. Convenient and versatile. This is a great all-around lens, especially for travel. The lens in this listing belonged to my father, but I also owned the same lens on a Contax camera, and it handled beautifully for 19 years, producing sharp photos with crisp contrast. CONDITION:
Kiron 28-210mm lens was gently used only a few times, was well cared for, and is in overall like new condition. Lens barrel is in mint condition with bright colorful markings. No brassing. No dents or dings. Lens glass appears clean and clear with no scratches, haze or fungus. Focusing is very smooth. Aperture click stops operate as they should, and diaphragm opens and closes as it should. Blades are straight and oil-free. Lens has been stored in a cool dry dust-free environment.
