Hand selected crystal for gem quality directly from Collectors Edge when this material was still available. Every small crystal is sold, this is the last gem quality loose crystal sold before another dealer bought the rest!

Cut from a 52ct. loose crystal

ABSOLUTELY STUNNING USA Custom Cut

Of all the cut rhodochrosites I have seen this work far exceeds the mark of excellence established by other world class gem cutters. Only through careful planning and experience with the cleavages and inclusions can fire like this be unlocked out of this material.

Very interesting to look at in person, you can see how he incorporated the inclusions and cleavages into the cut design.

This cut rhodo hands down outshines the Alma Star in the Denver Museum in a side by side comparison of fire!

Originally I was told not to expect more than a 2ct stone from the crystal due to the innate problems with cutting rhodochrosite. I was very happily surprised with the final carat weight of 8.28

As all type II stones there are some inclusions but the degree of craftsmanship is absolutely phenomenal as these inclusions have been incorporated to create a very flashy unique effect. The inclusions refract when you look onto the stone from the front creating a shimmery mirrored wrinkled foil type of effect. Pictures cant do it justice! Perfect geometry for maximum fire, absolutely amazing custom design

You will not ever see a stone like this again.
