VINTAGE U.S. LICENSE PLATES -- VARIOUS STATES -- 1920s Thru '60s


⭕ Offering several vintage American license plates for sale, from various states. All plates are authentic and 100% original paint. NO TOUCH-UPS (unless otherwise noted). Plates are sold as-is (see photos). PRICES ARE FIRM (see below; most are about $25 each).

Most of the plates are in very nice condition, with excellent paint gloss remaining. Each one is STRAIGHT and lies FLAT, with NO BENDS. Most imperfections consist of slight paint loss or scratches. These have VERY LITTLE, if any, surface rust. They display very nicely on your den, man-cave, or garage wall (or your vintage auto)! Also terrific if youre decorating a bar or lounge, and they make a great gift!

Each tag is sold individually (price follows description). Select which ones youre interested in and EMAIL ME. I am located on the North Shore and can offer you either free local pickup for cash, or you can pay through Paypal and I can mail them for $3.00 individually or $5.90 for up to four plates via Priority Mail.

Embossed blue lettering and rims on orange base.
SUNSHINE STATE nickname embossed at top.
From Orange County, in central Florida (includes Orlando, Winter Garden, Winter Park, Lake Buena Vista, etc.)

1963 FLORIDA (1C-289) -- $20
Embossed blue lettering and rims on bright white base.
From (Miami-)Dade County, including Miami, Miami Beach, North Miami Beach, Homestead, and Sweetwater.

1958 IDAHO (1A 4 468) -- $19
Forest-green lettering and rims embossed on white base. 90% ORIGINAL (flaking white paint on back has been touched up to preserve original).
FAMOUS POTATOES slogan embossed at bottom.
From Ada County, in southwestern Idaho, including the capital, Boise, along with Meridian, Star, Eagle, and Garden City.

1961 KANSAS (JW-3269) -- $22
Chocolate-brown lettering and rims embossed on bright white base. Rims in shape of state outline. CENTENNIAL 1961 legend celebrating 100 years of statehood at bottom.
From Jewell County, in north-central Kansas, including Jewell, Mankato, Burr Oak, and Webber.

1942 KENTUCKY (1V224) -- $35
Silver lettering and rims on jet-black base.
From Kenton County, in northern Kentucky across from Cincinnati, including Covington.
Shorty plate (about 10 long) for shorter registration, but regular passenger tag.

1956 MARYLAND (GK:26:43) -- $25
Brick red lettering and rims embossed on cream/off-white base.

1962-63 MARYLAND (CV-12-77) -- $20
Bright white lettering and rims embossed on bright blue base.

1940 MICHIGAN (SG-37-71) -- $25
Jet-black lettering embossed on silver painted base.
From St. Clair County, in the southeastern LP, including St. Clair, Marine City, Yale, Richmond, and Memphis.
Two small extra nail holes, one at center on left and right edges, barely visible and do not affect display.

1952 MICHIGAN (BE-16-40) -- $30
Jet-black lettering embossed on silver-painted base. Hefty, thick, oversized tag.

From Wayne County, including Detroit and its suburbs.

1942 MISSOURI (19-039) -- $30
Jet-black lettering and rims embossed on off-white base.

Registered in Lawrence County, at the southern tip of Ohio on the Ohio River, including Ironton, Proctorville, Chesapeake, South Point, and Coal Grove.

1942 PENNSYLVANIA (ZJ932) -- $20
Embossed navy lettering and rims on golden yellow base.
50% original -- back has been repainted.

1951 PENNSYLVANIA (5UJ50) -- $20
Embossed navy lettering and rims on golden yellow base.

1959 SOUTH CAROLINA (D203 390) -- $25
Bright white lettering embossed on blue base.
D weight class indicates vehicle between 3,000 and 3,500 lbs.

1942 SOUTH DAKOTA (7-8104) -- $35
Embossed jet-black lettering on golden yellow base.
COMPLETELY RESTORED.
Includes two stars separating county number from rest of registration, probably indicating household with military service members during World War II.
From Yankton County, in southeastern South Dakota, including Yankton, Mission Hill, Volin, Gayville, Utica and Lesterville.

1958 TENNESSEE (24-F1-77) -- $30

COMPLETELY RESTORED. From Giles County, in south-central Tennessee, including Pulaski, Minor Hill, Elkton and Lynnville.

Bright white lettering and rims embossed on jet-black base.
SUPER gloss. NEVER USED on a motor vehicle. Lettering has been repainted due to improper long-term storage.
