Jesus Descent From The Cross Original Framed Watercolor/ Ink Painting
Each individual person in the painting was drawn in pen and ink then water-colored separately. I installed them into the paining one by one. I cut each into relief and affixed them individually onto the background, cross and ladders, adding to the depth. Before this was framed there was some bending and marking of some of the figures, but I think it just adds to the originality. What is really remarkable to me is the red mark across Jesus side and chest. I did not paint that red slash into the figure. You can see it runs through the wrist of the apostle on the ladder. I dont know how it got there, but it captures the wound in his side and so I decided not to erase it.
This is double matted, with museum quality UV glass and a beautiful gold flecked wood frame. The paining measure 24 wide by 34 high, and is all set up for display.
