For you that are seeing my ad for the first time I have been making reproduction furniture and tables for many years using very old materials from houses and sometimes barns. I dont use any stains, everything is natural patina only, mortise & tenon joinery and wood pegged, all done the old fashion way. The first two pictures you see are of the table I have for sale. It is approximately 90 x 37. It has tapered legs and has a three-board top. I have about 10 or so tables made already so if this one is not right for you I might have something available. And I can always make whatever you might need. Following the first three photos you will find pictures of other things I have made. There are photos of lots of different things including cupboards an end table, hunt board and a trestle sofa table. I have just picked up some material for making tops and will be turning out some really great tables starting next week. I am taking orders now. Also, I have some 22 wide boards that are 16 feet long and am about to make a really big table from them. If you need a big table this one will be very special as the top will be made of only two boards.
I can make just about anything. I have made kitchen islands and counter tops as well as entire sets of kitchen cabinets. I have some very nice thick boards for counter tops and such. It is possible to make cabinets non-standard sizes so as to keep a kitchen from looking store bought. I pretty much always use antique materials. My expertise is with old wood, not new. I just finished a kitchen where we patterned everything to look like a piece of furniture so the kitchen looked like an original old country kitchen. In addition to cabinetry I make very nicely crafted reproduction furniture.
So you know, I have been in the antique buildings and building materials business for many years and have lots of interesting materials to work with. You may also check out some of my projects projects that were published. Check the 2013 September/October issue of Garden & Gun, page 54 I think, an article about an antique log and post & beam mountain house I did a few years ago. Also, I have a project in a new book by Ralph Kylloe. The title is Rustic Living and it just came out in September. It features a house I designed and built at Half Mile Farm in Highlands, NC. Ralph does a really great job with his books. Google him. The cover of Low Country Home magazine has a photo of an interior of a beach house I did in Hilton Head, SC. The staircase you see in the first few pages is also part of that house. If you want to go back a bit further, the June 2009 issue of Architectural Digest featured one of my projects on page 58. Southern Accents did a feature a year or so ago on a barn we moved from Pennsylvania to Tennessee which is now the main dining hall, wine cellar and tasting rooms at Blackberry Farm. I dont know what issue however.
